Keyboard no longer able to wake computer from sleep

I have Microsoft ergonomic KB, model 4000 v1.0 (15 years old), running on Win 10 Pro system, version 2004.
I have configured powercfg to enable wake on KB. For the past few years this has worked. It was plugged into the back of my desktop computer.
The other day I unplugged KB and put it in a different USB port in a hub. KB wake stopped working.
DeviceMgr shows me that the KB is "HID Keyboard Device" and "Allow device to wake computer" is enabled.
Furthermore powercfg -devicequery wake_armed confirms that the KB is enabled to wake. Yet it does not.
I've put the KB back in the port that it was originally in and power cycled computer, yet it still fails.
The only way to wake is to briefly click the power button on the computer (fortunately this does not turn it off).

Any ideas? Help please!

I'm using Windows 2004 with the same keyboard and no issues here.

I still see 'HID-compliant vendor-defined device (001)' set using powercfg -devicequery wake_armed with mine set to disabled.

MS is notorious for adjusting our personal settings during updates. :-\

As I said above , powercfg -devicequery shows that it IS enabled.
Also I said that this happened after unplugging the KB from one USB port and putting into a different port. The KB still works, but no longer wakes. There were NO updates performed in the 2 minutes that I changed the port.

If you read my question, nowhere did I say anything about changing BIOS settings or changing wake with powercfg. So no, I did not play around with ANY settings.

As I said, I have had no issues for years until I plugged it into a different USB port. Have you tried that?

I have not as I usually don't have a reason to and rarely turn off my PC. Not sure I want to at this point either

In Device Manager, choose to let it show hidden devices. Under HID devices and also under Keyboards, try removing the ones that appear ghosted. Also try unpluging the USB hub, then rebooting after that.

Bingo! Thank you so much. I had FIVE hidden keyboard devices. 4 of this same KB, one of a KB that I was testing a few months ago. I removed all those and now my KB can wake the computer.
