Search tool bar not working and system freezing

Seems the last windows 10 update my search toolbar stopped working, today the system just froze up the disk light didn't even bink had to reboot even my webcam wouldn't come on. Today had to hard boot the computer 6 six times. Now I run estet internet security and malwarebytes and those scans come up clean?

I am running dual 27 monitors. The system has been running great up to the last windows update back about 10 days ago. I have tried system restore and it will NOT rollback. What next?

Hi, which was the 'last Win 10 update' for you, exactly?

    The forum asked:

System Restore sometimes stops working and you usually have to wait for it-- sometimes not readily fixable. What error message did you get?

Are you overclocking? Have you made any recent hardware changes?

Please check your disk. E.g. Hard Disk Sentinel (SSDs too) - right on its GUI. Instant appraisal. Portable version available. Trial. Post the result.

    If ok, then run
    chkdsk c: /scan
    from an admin command prompt

    If ok, then run
    SFC /scannow
from an admin command prompt and advise the summary (not the whole) result.

What sort of disk(s) do you have?

It is often possible to uninstall updates. You might consider trying that if the above checks pass.

Your PC seems to be from around 2013 Dell XPS 8700: are any drivers/BIOS marked Urgent up to date?

I am running Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.868) Pro
    No overclocking
    No new hardware added
I have an SSD that is 1TB

Are you asking me to download Hard Disk Sentinel?

    Thank you for your reply.

Well, you can't run that program if it's not on your PC without downloading it. Google can help.

Okay I did the hard disk sentinel test and no issues, did a RAM memory test - passed. I am unable to type in the search bar "cmd" to run as admin.

    ran SFC/scannow

Came back with Window Resource Protection found corrupt file but was unable to fix some of them.

The most straightforward way to deal with that would be an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs and data. Tutorial available in the tutorials section. You need a 20H2 iso file (or could be done by logging in and running setup.exe from a 20H2 install disk).
