    Google can help you..

What is Windows 10 S and how is it different from regular Windows 10? | Windows 10 | The Guardian
Windows 10 S mode: everything you need to know | TechRadar

    N.B.
How is it different from Windows 10 Home or Pro?

The big difference between Windows 10 S and any other version of Windows 10 is that 10 S can only run applications downloaded from the Windows Store. Every other version of Windows 10 has the option to install applications from third-party sites and stores, as has the majority of versions of Windows before it.
Windows 10 in S mode is a version of Windows 10 that's streamlined for security and performance, while providing a familiar Windows experience. To increase security, it allows only apps from the Microsoft Store, and requires Microsoft Edge for safe browsing.

Thank you for your reply. If you note I have given you 2 key quotes. Can you manage to read the 3 quoted sections?

    Here's another on Office 365:

If you have a device running Windows 10 S, you can only install Office 365 from the Windows Store, rather than attempting to use a msi installer.

    • Click the Windows icon (bottom left)
    • Search for then open the Windows Store
    • Find the product called Office 365 Personal
    • From the results click Install (note:do not use the join button)
    • During the installation, authenticate..
It was said that Office 365 was free for educational organisations. No idea how far that extends.

? What is it that you don't understand from this quote?

    IMO -

Windows "S" mode should be banned.
Microsoft can keep their Windows Store.

    Just use Home or Pro.

S mode needn't be banned since a machine that comes from the factory setup as S mode can easily be reverted to full windows mode.
