Must admit I made a mistake by not checking BIOS for TPM state first. TPM was not on !!!
It was like this at first (also BIOS default setting)
    Windows 11??-tpm-1jpg.jpg
That means that another module was expected on a connector on the MB.
    When this was selected:
    Windows 11??-tpm-2.jpg
TPM module mounted on the MB was selected. Windows found it

That is the file name and size of the one I am using.

That key is the generic KMS key for W10 Pro, don't use it or you'll need a KMS server to activate.

Generic Product Keys to Install Windows 10 Editions

A clean install of W11 Pro, skipping entering a key when asked, will install the generic *3V66T key. This cannot activate on its own, but will activate if the machine (whether physical or a VM) already has a digital licence for W10 Pro. An in-place upgrade of an installed and activated W10 (Home or Pro) will also give you an activated W11.

Yes, in fact I did and it went just fine. It activated and it's just working so far. I haven't found any issues but I haven't tried to break it.. I'll try that today

There is no Windows 11 yet, only a leaked internal testing version, often clogged with malware. I don't recommend using it. The announcement is only a few days away...
the Win11 source i am using seems to be pristine nothing added/removed. ISO is apparently straight from MS. i can do everything to this image that i can do to any other Win10 build. its clunky and unfinished, but its legit.

Great, I already lost interest in insider so I'll make backup and upgrade. It's already activated and set up pretty good.

    10.0.21390.1 Vanilla to 10.0.21996.1 Offline

The leaked ISO is in good shape. The upgrade was longer, 38 minutes. No change apart the last portion and Installing Windows 11 shows up immediately.
One bug only, system settings crashes when tweaking Notifications & Actions.

Beautiful shape all over, even dark mode that we do not use usually is very nice.

    +1

First time we try that one, enabling WinGet with the bundle package works offline. Same for our favorite apps, all good. No trace of News & interest, not even in Regedit.

TPM 2.0 is not an issue with a ThinkPad. Disabling web search is not working.

Will try a clean install later on.
