This is more clickbait than credible news story, but...

Microsoft accidentally leaks the name of its next operating system -- and it isn't Windows 11

The claim is that Microsoft could be going to a naming convention similar to that of MacOS. The new Windows could be "Sun Valley", where the MS internal code name would become the name for the released OS.

Maybe there’ll be some good stuff! Like a new built in imaging program!
Did you use the old one (left over from Windows 7)? I never tried it.

New icons and a weird video! The folder icons look rather Linux like to me. The video is start up sounds slowed down 4000% apparently. Horrible noise. I tried to recognise if any were old familiar ones but couldn’t. Maybe if it’s speeded up 4000%? How would you do that?

Article says it’s a hint at new start up sounds. Lots of clouds rolling by during the video so maybe a hint at more cloud based stuff.

I think it would be a very bad idea to give it a name like that. It will lead to derogatory joke versions of the name whenever there are issues (which there are bound to be some) or if it isn’t popular. Like Bum Alley or something

    Numbers are safer.

I think I will apply to one of the MANY MS jobs that have just recently become available over the last couple of days.

Looks like Linux/Mac. I hate the start menu. I hate icons. I need lists! Words. I hope that is customisable. At the moment there are both - icons if you want and a list of programs on the left plus a right click list. Search bar now needs an additional click.

    Is control panel still there?

    - - - Updated - - -

Control panel is still there. There is no possible option for a local account - unless you have Windows 11 Pro.
