Windows 11??

Just for information.

If you want to setup a Folder or Shortcut that displays a List of ALL [ EVERYTHING ] the available Control Panel Items individually [ Commonly known as “God Mode” ], then do the following [ Replace ALL_Tasks with your own Title ] . . .

To Setup a Folder:

Right-Click the Desktop > New > Folder > Type [ Copy & Paste ] ALL_Tasks.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} > Enter.

To Setup a Shortcut:

Right-Click the Desktop > New Shortcut > Type [ Copy & Paste ] %WinDir%\Explorer.exe Shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} > Next > Type ALL_Tasks > Finish.

Well Control Panel or not I am just that cynical enough to consider the whole issue to be just another way of raising yet more revenue (if it goes to Windows 11) and I would also add that to me (and probably many more folks) with more than just one machine it makes it doubly difficult to follow alongside with Microsoft. I am also sure that that there are many who would simplly be able to afford the OS.
The wheels not broken Microsoft so why try fix it apart from the usual updates.

Yes bobkn I know we don't get charged for updates but my main concern that they do something like a completely new OS or like you say go to annual subscriptions.

Having said that I would not be opposed to an annual subscription of say $20 per machine (as some do for MS Office for example) what I don't want it to pay $300 or so for a completely different system that mean for a lot of us with a few machines perhaps an added multiple machine cost plus any other software such as security having to be purchased with the OS. For companies it would mean a major outlay I am sure you would agree.

Plus you would also agree that any new system would be loaded with the usual bugs that comes with it.

Well bobkn I too have been spared a lot of the bugs that others have had my main concern is that is MS just "making up a new system" for purely revenue raising

I too prefer Control Panel, not only because I'm used to it but also because most functions are more detailed. Some functions are also duplicated. They are also mixed some CP items are opened from settings and some from CP open in settings.

A great example of that is file associations where only simplistic changes can now be made from Setttings instead of the former CP method

Subscription as only model would exclude wast majority of the world that either can't pay online or just couldn't afford yet another monthly bill.
