Do the fluent surfaces show the same amount of banding as in Win10? It's an unfortunate problem that can't be completely mitigated by using a 10 bit display panel which means Microsoft sacrificed some visual quality for performance. Another thing is that blue start button. I bet it won't be possible to change its colour, 10 got a smart feature of turning the start button black along with all text on taskbar, when the light mode is enabled. So far in all screenshots of 11 the button is always blue, as if it was a static bitmap.

Yes I've noticed banding as well, I hope they fix it.

I'm not sure about the life expectancy of Windows 10, it's hard to say for sure, but Microsoft will likely continue to provide updates and support for the operating system for several years to come.

I find it hard to believe that MS could just abandon Windows 10 on devices that cannot run Windows 11. By and large, it was only a few really old W7/8 devices that could not be upgraded. However, there is going to be a lot of devices in 2025 that will not support Windows 11.

MS will get a lot of bad press if they just abandon a lot of pcs.

By 2025 the only computers that will not be capable of running Windows 11 will more than 5 years old. Depending upon the computer some older computers than that might fully support Windows 11 also. I suspect that a lot of people with computers that do not officially support Windows 11 and waited until 2025 will end up upgrading to Windows 11 at that time if they can.

Aren't you being a touch elitist?

5 years old is not that old for pcs.

There are lots of people running much older devices especially in poorer parts of the world, older persons, schools etc.

MS obviously no longer cares about the "little" people which is sad.

It's not like PCs with W10 are just going to die because of stopped updates and that W11 is a must to have version. Despite end of main support for W7 ended and just recently any support they are still use in very similar numbers.

Microsoft is taking a page from Apple. They are dragging us kicking and screaming into the future. If your hardware is too old, then it will not work on the latest OS.
That doesn't mean that your more then 5 year old computer will stop running, it will run on Windows 10 fine for a little while. But after Microsoft stops supporting Windows 10 in 5 years, it will be more vulnerable to attack. Most people will want to upgrade by that time anyways.
