I wonder if this would work: Copy the original exe into the same directory. Rename that copied exe into whatever name you want. Create the shortcut pointing to that renamed 2nd exe. I have done that within Windows 3.11 all the way to Windows 7, my current version.

Thanks for your reply. I got it fixed though... see my replies on the last page. The changes I made to the registry worked after restarting :).
