    Disabling ClearType doesn't work everywhere!!!

I want to disable completely ClearType, but I noticed e.g. in control panel windows still uses anti-aliasing for smoothing text.

While e.g. on desktop, or in browser there is no aa:

I read it is some bug. Any way how to fix this and disable ClearType for everything?

I disabled it under "Adjust ClearType text", box is unchecked and also "smooth edges of screen fonts" is unchecked in "Visual Effects" setting!

    Thanks for help.

Hello, Graphics settings such as AA can be managed system wide in control panel of your GPU.
ex. NVIDIA control panel let's you override setting specified per program.

I disabled it under "Adjust ClearType text", box is unchecked and also "smooth edges of screen fonts" is unchecked in "Visual Effects" setting!
From what I know these settings apply only to Windows OS, not to programs.

Your first screenshot is OS, and second screenshot is program (browser)

It is probably Windows issue... It was on application controlled by default, but I turned aa off to be sure. Even after restart, it still uses ClearType!!!

Yeah but I said: that "ClearType" is on in control panel, not the browser! It off for other programs too I see, but not the Windows! Except for some programs it is still on! So it works randomly for some things and for some it doesn't!

Btw, AA setting has almost nothing to do with fonts.

ClearType uses spatial anti-aliasing at the subpixel level to reduce visible artifacts on such displays when text is rendered, making the text appear "smoother" and less jagged.
Therefore you also need to make sure screen resolution is set to native level, and revisit your DPI setting, following tutorial may help:

Have you also logged off, and back on, or rebooted after disabling it?

Just rebooted. But now also tried to log off and back on, didn't change!

It seems that anti-aliasing is hardcoded into explorer etc. and Windows simply ignores your setting... GO FIGURE... Do you know any registry keys perhaps to disable this??? I don't want any anti-aliasing!!! Source: Disable Cleartype completely : Windows10

Found almost complete solution, this will disable most of AA!!!

It is still visible in Windows Settings (win+i) e.g.

Font also look good even without AA and it is in ENG!!!
