    screen shot location

where do the screen shots go? when i press the windows key the shift key and the s key i get at the top of the screen a small drop down that lets me pick the type of snip or screenshot. but for the life of me i can't find out where that snip went. sometimes i can past them into messages but if i want to save one on y pc for future reference then i can't find it.

i just tried to sni one of my foscam settings pages and i opened a folder and tried to past it and nothing si i did it again with the folder open and nothing so i opened a picture folder and tried to save in that and nothing. so i found the screenshot folder and nothing is in there. i just tried an ebay snip of a camera so if it show after i save this then it works here, but that same snip did not save in the places i mentioned above.

also i went to users corva seems to be the name windows gave me can't change that for some reason but the screen shot fold is empty.

    any ideas? thanks.

The screenshot is saved to clipboard. Just paste it somewhere like this post:

You may also paste it onto Paint and then press Ctrl + S to save it.

    Hi Bob,

are you looking for the location to confirm that 'Clipboard history' is enabled?

Search 'Clipboard settings' from the taskbar search.

i do not get that at all? i can find the clipboard but it will not let me copy or move or ctrl+s or ctrl+v of anything. i do not get the option you showed above. sometimes i can paste a snip into places like this but not all of the time. i just did a win + shift + s and the snip opens i created a box and tried to save that here and it fails to show. it will not even save in a folder or as a picture. and it gives mo no option to save it as type. thanks

yes that is correct. if i got to my saved pictures i see a win10 folder and it is pack full of data and in that data there is a picutre. but i should not ahve to jump thru all thsoe hoops to get a snip to copy to a folder or as a picture of even in a topic like this.

it seems to me it was working but now it is not. as i have a saved picture folder and it is full of item i once snipped. but then i created a snip that is located at the very lower right side in the toolbar in notifications and now snip is not working. so maybe that notifications area that has the snip in it changed something. thanks

When you took a screen shot with WinKey+Shift+S you should have seen a notification saying it has been saved to the clipboard....

If you click on 'Select here to mark up and share the image' then Snip & Sketch opens and gives you the chance to save the image.

You could also just open Paint and paste from the clipboard, as Matthew Wai suggested.

After taking a screenshot, press the Windows key + R and run MSPaint to open Paint.
On Paint, click on the "Clipboard" button and select "Paste".
Paint is simple enough for an idiot like me to use.
