Certain Updates are preventing me from accessing Libraries

Hi. I have a folder of videos on my PC which has been added to Libraries. In the next room is my Dune media player and when I use its NetworkBrowser/UPnP button, I can navigate to and play the videos.

After Update KB4601345, I could navigate to the video folder but the Dune said 'empty'. I uninstalled the Update and all was well again.

Now another Update (KB5000822) has done the same thing. The problem might be easier to solve if the Dune had no access at all to my PC but that's not the case – the Dune shows me the folder's name so it must have a clear path to my PC. It just can't see the videos within the folder.

Can anyone suggest what these Updates are doing to my Library and how to fix it? I don't want to have too many uninstalled Updates. Many thanks for all suggestions offered. Winver 1809 build 17763.316.

Build 1809, which is well beyond its end of service life (no more routine updates).
    Winver 1809 build 17763.316.
Can't see that update in News, though.

    (Deleted incorrect ref. kb5000802)

Hi dalchina. Well, something odd must have happened because KB500822 definitely installed itself on my 1809. My attempt to Uninstall it failed so I had to use System Restore to get rid of it.

I can't see any reference to it and 1809 in News, nor can I find KB4601345 in News, although it is known in connection with 1809.

If you wish to stay with 1809, unless you're running LTSC, could be wise to use some means to disable W Update in case you get a forced upgrade sometime.

Hi again. I think you initially confused KB5000822 with KB5000802... Yes, I have (and like) LTSC.

Ah... there's no ref. to KB5000822 in News. But here it is:

    Check you have the SSU.

Thanks for that. According to MS "If you are using Windows Update, the latest SSU (KB5000859) will be offered to you automatically." However, it was not in my list of installed Updates. I've just installed it (the SSU) manually and will try KB5000822 later today.

Sweet! KB5000822 reinstalled and my videos are streaming. That SSU must have done the trick. Weird, though, that it wasn't installed automatically given that I use Windows Update. Nevermind - thanks, dalchina, nice work.

Lucky guess! Sorry about the misread at the start.

Do not feel like the Lone Ranger.....I have never been offered an SSU and simply keep abreast of @Brink update threads.

Hi BubbaW. Nice to know it's not just me. That link takes me to Brink's 'Visitor Messages' - is there some other list you meant to tell me of?
