    Startup problems

    I need some help...
I'm not sure what is happening, my windows 10 starts up fine but sometimes it takes a while (like 5 mins) before I'm finished starting up. What happens is that when I start/restart my laptop it goes to my desktop as normal but sometimes (more frequently than 6 months ago) a "script" or something executes, what happens is a box pops up and in the title bar it says something about cmd.exe but the box remains empty until it closes. Like what happens after you install some updates but now this "script" is opening a second cmd.exe window and the two windows alternate between being not responding and responding. Sometimes its quick but generally it takes about 5 minutes. As I mentioned it does not happen every time I boot but it seems more frequent lately.
I thought it was because of an update that failed to install properly but I don't know how to fix it if that is the problem.
I also considered a start-up program being corrupted or something in the start-up list of program but again if it is this then I don't know how to fix that.
I have run sfc /scannow and it does return an error - I run it again and again until it returns no errors, but the problem comes back.
    Please help!

Hi, compare what happens when you perform a clean boot. (Google or see tutorial if unsure how).

If no change, examine startups shown by Autoruns (free from MS). You can try disabling those with the relevant tick box where they look suspicious. This shows everything starting including scheduled tasks, and more.

Ensure you don't disable anything MS-related.

Did you scan the computer for malware and virus?
Open MSConfig and check start up programs

    Hi
I think I may have figured it out with Autoruns, the laptop I have is past its support date by the HP company and I think that it causing the startup anomalies, there were a number of entries in my task scheduler all relating to HP, I clicked on the tasks and disabled them - to test if that is indeed the problem, if it is then I will deleted the task

I get 2 or 3 of those Command Prompt windows when booting from shutdown, don't seem to create any issues.
