BCD corrupted/broken after changing partitions, can't restore
Hi
I've been having difficulty for ages with Windows updates not applying successfully, so after the recent hack I was trying again to fix the issue, and came across the possible problem that my Win 10 system reserved partition needed to be bigger than its current 100MB to allow some updates to apply - 500MB seems to be recommended now.
I tried expanding the system reserved partition with MiniTool OS, and now I'm getting errors whereby the BCD seems to be screwed up and Windows won't boot at all. I'm using Windows 10 v2004
Screenshots follow. I'm booted into a recovery USB and in the command prompt there. For some reason the system seems to be applying the drive letter 'C' to the newly expanded system reserved partition, which might be causing the errors. I've tried removing the label and labelling my main windows partition as C using diskpart, but it doesn't fix the issue and seems to keep defaulting back to labelling the system reserved partition as C.
I've also tried rebuilding the bcd using /fixboot /fixmbr /rebuildbcd etc. Sometimes the operation reports successful, but I still can't boot.
I can only conclude that the partition labelling has all screwed up, but I've no idea how to fix it properly so that it sticks and then restore the BCD. Any help would be much appreciated.
