Page 2-2 in your motherboard manual shows 90% of the motherboard connectors.

You need to go to the motherboard link I gave you earlier and download the manual (pdf).
This is what it is called: E8039_P9X79_LE
Obviously it's the English version.

The reason I went and found where to download the manual, is so you would download it, and read it.

The 2 white connectors on that module are USB. I have no idea what the black connector is for. That module was an optional part... 10 years ago.

As for the USB module's USB 2.0 ports, you don't really need them. Your motherboard already has some.









My suggestion is, that you read the manual, THEN ask your questions.
Part of any "PC adventure" is reading the manual.

Your part, that is.

There might not even be connections for it on the board you are putting into your Phantom case.

What I meant was that unlike today's motherboard manuals, the manuals for motherboards say... over 5 years old... actually were useful.
They are 3-4x the size of today's manuals. Reading them would actually explain 95% of what you need to know.

Just make sure it's a "pencil" eraser. I don't know if they still have them, but a ballpoint pen eraser would literally erase the gold contacts from the circuit board.

But yeah, a pencil eraser works just fine for that.

Honestly, touching the gold parts in general feels incredibly sketchy with me, i don't want to end up ruining something that is perfectly fine, i don't know much about them but I know they are incredibly sensitive and your not even supposed to touch them with your hands.
