    HELP - Registry Settings Disappear - Windows 10 x84 - Enterprisy Load

Is there something about Windows 10 that erases windows reg modifications right before boot?

For the 3rd time in a row, settings have been erased that I made before reboot. The first time it was some manual modifications, but this time, I configured Hikvision camera software...

Rebooted with update (windows update), and when the system came back online all the reg settings for that software, where gone.

I just reconfigured the software, and rebooted a bunch of times....

I seen this 2 more times before, some with manual reg edits.

It varies with individual Registry keys.

You'll only have a chance of getting meaningful guidance if you identify the Registry Keys concerned. There might be people who have worked with those individual Keys and have found solutions/workarounds for their changes.

I don't think we are talking about the same thing. While some of the settings may be windows settings, we are talking about a reversion of data written the registry file in places where windows is not suppose to touch.

    Software settings for software.

It is possible to create a volatile registry key where data is stored only in RAM and will not survive from one session to another. Windows uses this feature to a limited extent and applications can do so as well. Regedit does not identify these keys in any way and I am not aware of any software that does, or of any way of determining this.

I know that the Key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE" is volatile but likely there are others.

Without knowledge of the keys in question I would not care to speculate on the cause of your issue.
