Forced to power down

    Yes, that's usually the problem, all right. I have had this happen enough that I don't try to figure out what caused the hang unless it's a recurring issue. If it's occasional or intermittent, I've never done much more than waste a bunch of time trying to figure out what went (or was going) wrong. Sigh.

    I'm bloody impressed Windows works as well as it does (on my PCs anyway ) considering all the combinations and permutations of hardware, software, tweakers, etc it has to endure - so once a month or less I can deal with

    @steve108: Amen, brother! Too right. If it ain't broke enough to break repeatedly I've learned the hard way I'm chasing my tail if I try to fix it. 'Nuff said.
