    If your User Profile becomes corrupted, Windows will load a Default Profile. You will not have the same icons on the desktop or pictures folder. but If you Browse to C:\Users\[UserName] You should see your Pictures folder and other User data.

    Why can't you rcover them? What method(s) have you tried?

    If there are files there, surely they can be copied/pasted to a new location (prefereably to an exterenal storage, before you start tinkering with the recovery/moving the Pictures folder.


    You could try booting to a Linux distro USB and use that to recover the files.
    They are in the Pictures file but I have had to restore to previous version a few times in order to get most of my pictures back.

    I technically didn't ignore it, I just didn't have all the info and was busy at the time. But I can basically say is that I did use Restore Previous versions and that worked.
