System Crash-Lost data please help.10 Pro

    Windows 10 Pro
    Hello,
I am going to try to do a Microsoft Remote session tomorrow hopefully, yesterday I couldn't get thier link to work. Joining this forum is a back up in case that doesn't work.
Please forgive the length of my explanation its complicated.
I am asking for my mother who uses here PC in a user mode. i.e she never signed into a Microsoft account or set up a password. Just started up the PC and away she went. On this User account was all her documents and a hard copy of windows office/word (she does not like cloud services)
Yesterday whilst I was not there she started up the system from being closed down and was told there was a system failure.it took 40 minutes to boot up.( Updates are set to auto)
I don't know exactly what she did but she joined a new Microsoft account, with password etc.

Now the old original user account cannot be found, with it all her files and the office/word.
I have tried to sign out of the new account , which the system will not allow and look for the old User account but can't find it.
Please help, I understand there must be two accounts as some people have, but the old user account was never named or pass worded and now seems to have vanished.
    Thanks in advance
    Steve

Now the old original user account cannot be found . . .

Type the below command into the Command Prompt and press Enter . . .

    Code:

    net user

    Is her Account there?

It is NOT a solution, it will tell you if the OS still recognises her User Account.

    Thanks Paul-Solution

I went onto Microsoft Live chat and did a semi remote help session with someone. Semi remote meaning that they don't fully access your PC but just can see your screen. You can chat with them in a dialogue box and they can draw with a red marker where they want you to go and what to do.
It was simply a matter of finding a different place for the original account and copy and paste into a new one.
The problem seems to be having to do with having 2 accounts both named User.
I can't be exact sure of the steps I took but it was simple, nor can I be sure of how the problem came about in the first place as my Mother was alone when she opened up her PC, which is switched off every night.
Some kind of damaged system warning came up, and somehow she made herself a new account with microsoft inc password etc but still called user. This user could not be switched off or over, so the original user content was copied across.
    Thanks
    Regards.
