Just to verify, did you install the KB4562830 Enablement Package that allows you to go from build 19041 (v2004) to 19042 (v20H2)?
Is that necessary to go from 1909 to 20H2 today?

Hi Brink. No I didn't - I leave the PC to download stuff like that! KB4562830 isn't in my list of Installed Updates. Clearly, from what you say, I need this KB but how is Joe Public or my granny supposed to know this, I wonder...

And why did I never get version 2004 if I'm on automatic updates... (Mine is 1909)

What do you reckon I should do - install that KB and try Windows Update once more?

KB4562830 is needed to upgrade to 20H2 from 2004.

No problem Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something as I hadn't gone from 1909 directly to 20H2. My recommendation is MR 1909, upgrade to 2004, MR 2004 if it's good, then try 20H2 (which I consider a downgrade from 2004).

Since this thread started off as, "...Indexing is always off" to an opinion that, " (which I consider a downgrade from 2004)." I just wanted to share that if he were to upgrade to 20H2 from 1909 or 2004 for him to read this if he does not have any Disk Imaging Software installed:

How to uninstall and downgrade Windows 10 20H2 to previous versions

Regarding version 20H2 I have it installed and am not having any issues. Just my opinion.
