    @dortmunder,
    Please zip the failure files that were recently updated/created and upload them if upgrade fails again when you try it.

    I've bitten the bullet and gone for a clean install. After going through all the steps it came to the first reboot and went back to square one! I cursed a bit but started again and all went well. I'll probably be spending the next few days getting my PC set up the way it was...

    Many thanks indeed for all the time you guys have spent with me.

    Wow! Clean install

    Okay, when you get your new clean install the way you like it, I recommend making a MR backup.

    Which version did you install? 2004 or 20H2 and how do you like it so far?

    Remember, it might take a few hours of alone time to build the search index as M$ modified search to not impact the user experience, so if you're using the PC, it will build the index really slowly, if at all. I usually disable sleep, etc on my PC and leave it on overnight to finish building the search index by itself in piece

    Neither version, Steve. I've always known that the next time I did a clean install it would be LTSC. I use my PC for just a few basic things and liked the idea of having minimal Updates.

    TEST: Windows 10 2004 - How much faster than LTSC? Best Windows 2020 - YouTube I'm not familiar with LTSC. Found this video interesting.

    How's your shiny new LTSC vs your previous 1909 so far?

    A bit early to say, Steve, but so far I've no complaints. It's nice not having to deactivate Cortana and suchlike.
