    Sr. Citizen Dumb Question: Bottom Bar With The Icons Orientation ?

    Hello,

    Running W10.

    Not sure what the proper name is, but regarding the bar on the very
    bottom of the screen that holds all the icons:

    Mine has gone to a vertical orientation on the right side of the screen.
    No idea what caused this. What might have ?

    How do I get it back on the bottom, please ?

    Thanks,
    Bob

    @Robert11

    It's called the Taskbar. Just right click it and choose: Taskbar settings, then...

    Do you mean the Taskbar?

    Have a look at this . . .

    I hope this helps.

    Hello @Robert11 go to your Search bar and type Taskbar. It will bring up Taskbar Settings. Look for Taskbar Location on Screen. You probably moved it on the Left/Right side. On the drop down menu change it to Bottom.

    Others have told you how to change its location in Settings, but you can also click-and-hold then drag it to the left/right/top/bottom. That's probably how you moved it by accident. To prevent that happening again once you have it back where you want it, turn on 'Lock the Taskbar' in the Taskbar Settings.

    This happened to me in win95( i think ( 1996 )) when my friend's 3 year old was messing with the mouse on the desktop. I didn't even know the O/S could do that! I have had the taskbar at the top ever since as it makes sense to have the start menu fall down instead of moving upwards....
