Tasks still show in Task Scheduler despite being deleted

I deleted some tasks in windows\system32\tasks, but they still show up in the scheduler.

    What gives?

edit: It's not all of them actually, which is even more puzzling. I saw Remote assitance one and that stupid Xbox service.

1 Perhaps Windows recreates those particular tasks whenever they are deleted. Try deleting them from within Task scheduler then checking them again a day later. Perhaps they will have been recreated again.

2 Check what happens to the Registry entry when you delete the tasks your way
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tasks

3 I don't understand why you don't just delete them using Task scheduler itself or, if you need to run from a script, SchTasks commands.

Task Scheduler not the same as Task Manager (which shows running tasks)

"Deleting" program files can be dangerous if they are still listed in the Task Scheduler, which will still try and start those non-existent/non-available programs/files. May cause system errors.

Program files should never be deleted - use uninstall options only (Windows built-in or even better 3rd party options.

It's even much better just to go to Task Scheduler and disable (rather than delete) tasks.

The OP has not mentioned deleting any program files.

That suggests (manual?) deleting files/folders directly from the Windows file system structure, not through uninstalling procedures.

The folder identified by the OP contains Task scheduler task definitions and nothing else.

I am not trying to suggest that the method the OP used is a good one.

What the hell are you going on about, @idgat ?
Maybe if you haven't got the slightest idea what are people talking about, don't comment at all?

I have a script that runs at the end of an unattended Windows installation that, among other things, removes certain garbage tasks, but I accidentally found out some of them (a few, but still) were still present later on. Interestingly, the physical files on the disk were still gone, but the tasks were present in Task Scheduler. I'm trying to figure how is that even possible if each task has its own file.
