There is a note in that post that says it doesn't work in versions over 1607.

There doesn't seem to be ANY way to get that clock back.
I know you don't want to, but you might have to use an app, widget, etc.

Btw, I tried that registry edit just to make sure. It doesn't work.

Microsoft seems pretty determined on this one.

Maybe no one at Microsoft knows how to "read" an analog clock, anymore.
I did read an article about 6 months ago that a LOT of young people, can't read analog clocks.

I love how people complained about it, when it clearly says it doesn`t work after 1607

You want a analogue clock, just grab the gadget.

In the article, did you read it ?

Call it what you will, a complaint, a comment, etc.

Yes I did, thank you, but I didn't read the comments at first.

I really miss the old analogue clock, and would like it back. There used to be a registry change thing I could do to get the old tray back, but they disabled it for some reason.

The worst part about this, is that the clock is still visible if you go to date/time settings. Why can we not have this as a desktop feature?
There's a program called Startisback++ that re-enables the UseWin32TrayClockExperience registry key on versions higher than 1607 (it also has other features like start menu/taskbar themeing). It costs 5 bucks though

I'm well aware that there's app icons I can get, that I don't want on my desktop.
That choice is fast becoming no longer an option for users who want specific requirements.

What is shown on that thread here still exists in Win11 on the right-click and Adjust date and time settings, just changed a bit.

Real experts use a fibonnaci clock. I created an Excel spreadsheet once for that. Now that would be cool on taskbar.
