Windows Explorer.exe restarts and restarts Wifi

    Hello,
Maybe you can help me. A friend of mine got a pc from a friend and I cleaned it and installed windows 10 new.

I used a wired connection to make everything and this works fine.

Now the problem, she uses wifi and from time to time the explorer.exe resets itself and the wifi connection got lost and needs to reconnect.

So for gaming or talking its pretty annoying.

I tried it with removing the 2h20 update cause of the many bugs it did not solved it.
I tried a wifi card (PCIe) and also the same issues. With the other devices in the network is everything fine.

I also tried the chipset driver to install new and with the wifi card drivers.

Winver: 2004 (Build 19041.746) but also tried the 20h2 update.
    The system:

    Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120GB (system)
    WDC WD10EZEX-00KUWA0 (1TB HDD)
    16 GB DDR3 memory

thanks for any help or advice

    Welcome to the Forum

Please explain "explorer.exe resets itself". How do you know it's resetting? What do you see?

Open Device Manager. Is there any yellow alerts of missing drivers?

The device manager is clean and all is installed.

The desktop freezes and you cant click after a short time the explorer is gone like the taskbar and it restarts itself on the same moment the internet connection is gone.

I just tested by using Task Manager to restart Windows Explorer, all items on the Taskbar including Wireless came back right away and open programs did not close. I'd think there's something else besides File Explorer causing issues
Yeah, Microsoft decided to rename Windows Explorer to File Explorer with Win10 but hasn't gotten the job finished yet. Looking back, in Windows 3.x it was File Manager and the start was Program Manager.

    Yeah i think that too.

But that is the only thing that both problems share. The file explorer where not the problem when die wifi connection will still alive.

    Lets do the basic.

Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
    chkdsk c: /f
It will say your disk is in use and if you want to schedule to next start = yes
    Restart
Pay attention on the results, specially bad blocks, bad clusters, bad sectors etc

Back to windows, Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
    sfc /scannow

If it finds any issues, restart and run again, at least 3 times

Back to windows, Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    and

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    Report
