    Lost File. SafeHouse Explorer

I have lost a file (SafeHouse explorer) that was on the desktop, I have checked the recycle bin, one drive and clipboard but no luck, I have used the search but no luck there. I have not deleted as far as I am aware. Any suggestions please.
SafeHouse is an encryption program that keeps you files safe.

    caprice,

You note that SafeHouse is an encryption program. The file that you lost from your desktop, was that the icon that you use to launch the program? If so, it was probably a shortcut and not an actual program file. If that is true, then all we need to do is determine where the program is actually installed so that we can create a new shortcut.

    Try this:

Open File Explorer. Go to this location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SafeHouse Explorer (that is the default install location for that program)

Do you see a file called "SafeHouseExplorer.exe"?

NOTE: If you see a file called "SafeHouseExplorer" with the ".exe" at the end, that's the same thing. The missing ".exe" just indicates that you don't have File Explorer setup to show extensions.

In any case, right click on that file and choose "copy". Now, go back to your desktop. Right-click on an empty area of the desktop and choose "Paste shortcut".

    Does that resolve the issue?

It went OK and loaded the short cut onto the desk top, but when clicked it opened to the "create a new volume" set up not the missing SafeHouse.

Just in case, did you try and search for any files with the name/extension *.sdsk as that is the default file name for the encrypted 'container' files ? Something like "Everything" from Voidtools can easily search all your drives quite easily.
