Windows 10 Pro vs Windows 10 Home

I have seen a PC that I like that comes with Windows 10 Pro installed. I have only ever used Windows 10 Home and I don't need the Pro version (it will be a stand-alone PC with no others networked) but that's what I will get if I buy the PC.

Q1 - Are there any extra setup steps that I need to be aware of compared with the Home version?

Q2 - I know the Pro version comes with Bitlocker but can I ignore this (and whatever other differences there are) and just use the PC like I do my current Home version of Windows?

Q3 - Anything else I need to be aware of in the Pro version?

    Thanks.

I think you will get quite a few answers to this. To get you started, have a look at these . . .

    > Windows 10 Home vs Pro
    > Windows 10 Home vs Windows 10 Pro

    I hope this helps.

I have both Home & Pro, & for my usage there is very little noticeable difference. You are not obliged to start using any of the additional Pro features.

Thanks for replies. The links show me many things that the PRO version includes and I do not need any of them.

Thank you rqt. That answers most of what I wanted to know.

Are there any extra steps needed to set up the PRO version compared with Home version?

Not that I can recall - so no huge differences

The installation will be the SAME.

One further point, Group Policy is NOT available in Win 10 Home => What Is Group Policy in Windows?

    I hope this helps.

Pro is not designed for common users, thus there are some hidden settings.
I personally chose Home, because it is lighter and less vulnerable than Pro.

Thank you Paul - Group Policy will not affect me since it will be a stand-alone PC.

Thank you TairikuOkami - I know it is designed for business and not for Home users but that is what comes installed. As long as the 'hidden settings' do not affect me then I will leave them alone. I also prefer Home edition because it is what I am used to and I don't need Pro.
