Adobe Files moved from download folder to another folder cannot open

Hi Everyone,

I have a problem with Adobe Files moved from the download folder to another folder on C drive then cannot be opened and become corrupted.
1 - Sometimes the pdf file does not save file extension *.pdf in new folder & requires "open with" Adobe acrobat.
2 - Sometimes the file location / address - shown in the file properties does not show correct location / address of the new file & therefore will not open.

Many thanks for your helpful suggestion using PDF reader Sumatra instead of Adobe.
It Worked for a short term fix - IE to move pdf files to different folder & then be able to open & save them with different name.

Normally I use / pay for Adobe Acrobat Pro DC for pdf everything - but in this case I can't understand WHY I can't move a pdf file from download folder to C drive folder without the file becoming unusable -IE open or save to different name.
I am not sure if this is an Adobe problem OR File explorer problem? hmmmm any ideas.

But for today the short fix - your recommendation of Sumatra PDF reader does everything I need..

Many thanks for you suggestions. The Adobe file in download folder 'seems" to be ok / perfect file / uncorrupted. The download folder is default download is on my C drive. The Adobe file in question is password protect for opening. I did try turning off Norton anti virus, but no difference. I have never encountered this type of problem before. As I have been copying & pasting files within Microsoft Explorer for decades... After I have pasted / copied the file to new folder on C drive the file will not open in Adobe and if right click on file, properties the location is full of C:\??\??\ with error message "file location unknown OR file extension *.pdf is missing.

One the one hand I just tried to install the latest Adobe Acrobat reader for my new Mini. Without warning it tried to force download two additional programs, one being the classic pushy McAfee. Two words: Adobe sucks.

On the other hand Sumatra looks like it was designed around '95. By me. SPOILER: I don't design software.

Propably your file's name is really big.
If thats the case, you need to change its name to a smaller one before moving it to another folder.
