    Time & Date won't sync on start-up

    Hi
Since the big win 10 update last month I've been having trouble with time & date, it just won't sync anymore on start-up.I did google and it led me to the check service and change to automatic from manual, still doesn't help. When using laptop and I do the time manual it keeps correct while I'm on, but when I shut down and come back the next day the date & time are from the last time I was on laptop.
Thanks for any help on steps to fix
    Also tried w32tm /resync

It might be the CMOS [ Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor ] battery, which is basically a small amount of memory held on the computers motherboard that stores the BIOS settings, one of which is the Date & Time. They are relatively cheap to replace.

    I hope this helps.

    Jack,

I have never seen any relationship between Startup & TimeSync - I monitor both in the Event viewer and TimeSync just seems to happen when it feels like it.

So I think your problem boils down to

    - Does this problem happen even if you remain connected to AC power during the interval?
    - Is your main laptop battery decently charged during the interval?

Before you replace the CMOS battery, check the BIOS for 2 things.

    1. The Date Time is correct in BIOS.
    2. Copy down all settings as some BIOS will reset on removal of battery. While this is not so much a issue with modern systems it still happens.
