2 laptops weirdly synced. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hi everyone,

I can't find this answer by searching, sorry.
My wife's DELL and my HP (mine is version 2014 OS Build 19041.685) are bizzarely synced/ linked in some way, and I cannot stop it.
When either of us adds or deletes a favourite, for example, it changes on the other computer.
They are registered with Microsoft accounts on different emails, and sync is turned off on both computers.
I'm completely at a loss as to what to try next. It doesn't help that I know nothing at all.

    Thanks in advance,
    C

Have you turned off One Drive Sync or any other cloud based sync you may be using ?

I maybe mistaken but isn't one drive like the cloud because on my laptop one drive looks like a cloud icon on the bottom of my screen.

You dont say what browser you are using . Almost all browsers have a way to sync across any device . Firefox has their sync , chrome has theirs , Opera has theirs etc ...

If they are both signed in under the same" Chrome" (Google) account then they will sync the bookmarks if the sync function is turned on . Check to see if both are logged into the "same" GOOGLE account and if sync is turned on . This is the only way bookmarks could be being duplicated across pc's . Microsoft accounts really have no bearing on Chrome function , only a google account with have any bearing . Look up into the right hand corner under the little person picture and see if they are logged into the same account .
