I don't understand exactly what you have done!

[1] If you did not install the OS on C:\, where did you install it to?
[2] Did you create a System Image prior to installing the OS?
    [3] Please post [ upload ] a screenshot of your partitions using . . .

It will NOT work [ NO program will ]!

Office needs to be installed on the new OS because of the files that are needed for it to work [ system files, reg files, integrated files etc ].

    I hope this helps.

    OK.

[1] Create a System Image of the current OS. If you need information or guidance on how to do this then please let us know and we will provide it for you.
[2] Before performing a Clean Install, look at this, it might suit your requirements . . .

     In-Place-Upgrade - Repair Install

    Information & Tutorials:

This is a Non-Destructive Process which keeps ALL your Apps, Programs and Personal Data intact . . .

IMPORTANT: This is an extract from the Tutorial below . . .

    • You will only be able to do a repair install of Windows 10 from within Windows 10. You will not be able to do a repair install at boot or in Safe Mode.
    • You will need at least around 10 GB + what Windows is currently using of free space available on the Windows drive.
    • The installation media (ex: ISO or USB) must be the same edition and same or newer build as your currently installed Windows 10. If it's not, then the repair install will fail.
    • The installation media (ex: ISO or USB) must be the same base language (aka: system default language) as your currently installed Windows 10. If it's not, then you will not keep anything.
    • If you have a 32-bit Windows 10, then you must use a 32-bit ISO or USB.
    • If you have a 64-bit Windows 10, then you must use a 64-bit ISO or USB.

    > How to Do a Repair Install of Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

    Basically . . .

[1] Download the ISO to the Desktop.
[2] Right-click the ISO and select Mount.
    [3] Open File Explorer.
[4] Double-click the Mounted Drive to open it.
    [5] Double-click setup.exe.
    [6] Choose the Upgrade option.
[7] Select Change what to keep.
[8] Select EITHER, Keep Personal Files and Apps, Keep Personal Files Only, or Nothing.
[9] Unmount the ISO by right-clicking the mounted drive and selecting Eject.

The ONLY downside is that you could possibly lose some of your personalizations.

    Recommendations:

    DISABLE ANY Non-Microsoft . . .

    • Antivirus Software.
    • Firewall software.
    • Drive Encryption Software.

    I hope this helps.

If you have completed a Clean Install to a new SSD, then the best option is to also do a Clean install of all of your programs, if you don't have the product key written down, you can boot the old SSD/HDD and install Belarc Advisor, which will tell you a lot about the computer including all product keys for installed programs like Office.
If that is not possible, you can try this method, but it is not a guarantee.
The previous instructions were about repairing your old SSD/HDD and then you can make an Image file of it, and restore the image to your new SSD, or clone it over to the new SSD, and you will have the same setup, programs and all.

I think the present tense "need to install" suggests that the OP has not yet installed it.

If I have understood correctly, the OP has not said that they have a new and an old SSD/HDD.

Maybe the OP can clear this up as to what they have exactly done. Did you already reinstall Windows on your SSD? If so, there would be no files to transfer, as you have overwritten the old OS. Or are you thinking of Reinstalling Windows? Do you have a secondary drive that you want to install to so can copy your files? Or are you going to Backup everything to an External USB HDD first? If you can clear this up for us, we could avoid confusion and we can give you a better answer.
