I Have NEVER Seen This Issue Before, Until Now...

Well guys, this is officially my first post here. I feel like my attempts for getting help with this issue are starting to get a little desperate, but I had posted on 3 other forums about & still haven't yet heard ANYTHING back. :/ But I figure I could try here & see if anyone can help me out with this.

I would normally post my problem description, but that was already done on my Microsoft Community Forum post, so I'll just let you guys view the link so you can know just what is going & what I've tried. Link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...=1608787249148

With that being said, if anyone needs any extra details or has any other additional questions you need to ask me, feel free to do so & I'll get back to you. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! :)

I think the peek function is broke because I can duplicate the issue on my end. Issue present on Chrome and Edge.

Don't get your hopes up for a fix. If it disabled by default, its probably on the deprecation list.

In my case, its a Dell OEM install, fully updated. I personally don't care if its broken. I was just trying to help OP.

I will attempt to duplicate issue on my Work PC Monday and report back.

Shot in the dark, but maybe update/reinstall gfx drivers.

Once I enable the Peek function in Settings or right-click of the Taskbar and Taskbar settings I haven't any issues with it. The last couple of Version Upgrades had it not clickable by default but easily changed.

This is how I'm understanding OP's problem:

Enable Aero Peek -> Open a non maximized browser window with a YT video playing -> Open a New maximized browser window over top of it. When I hover the corner to peek, I see a solid color square for the window behind the maximized foreground window.

My laptop is a Dell Precision 7520 with Intel/Nvidia gfx.

STATUS UPDATE: I have tried some additional troubleshooting on my end, but no luck. I did a clean boot just to see if that would do anything, but that didn't help. Also, a few days ago, I tried cleaning the drive & reinstalling Windows via the built-in recovery environment AND creating an entirely new account to see if that did anything, but the problem is still there. I also noticed that the Peek To View Desktop feature in the Settings app was turned off after my recent install of Windows. Turning it on didn't help though. (To be clear- I haven't had an issue with peeking to view the desktop; it's simply when I have a YT video going in 1 browser while a few other browsers are open for something entirely different. When I attempt to hover over the browser window playing the video, I'm NOT seeing the video playing in a preview like it should; just white where the video is supposed to be.) I should mention when I created my bootable Windows 10 USB installer, it came directly from the Microsoft website, although I think the ISO that I have on there is for version 2004, not the October 2020 Update. So it seems to me that it's possible my OS has somehow become corrupt even though the SFC says it hasn't found any corrupt or missing files. But hey, I'm not the expert, just my theory. *♂️

Also, --(this is sort of unrelated, but I'll mention it here anyway)-- I haven't had any issues with my graphics drivers, but I have noticed a bit of odd screen tearing along the bottom part of my monitor the last few times I booted to the desktop. It has only been for a few moments, but then goes away within seconds. I REALLY do hope I didn't bang up my GPU or scrap it or anything the last time I had to take it out for cleaning... For anyone interested, this is what the screen tearing issue looks like: I Have NEVER Seen This Issue Before, Until Now...-img_0246-1-.jpg

Well, I thought I would at least give you all an update & attempt to answer the questions that were asked since I can't seem to reply to the comments in this forum. Anyway, if any of you need more details or have questions for me, feel free to ask & I'll do my best to answer them for you! Thanks.
