ignore touch input when I'm using my pen is not working

    Hello everybody!

Since yesterday my touch display isn't ignoring touch input when I use my pen.
That makes it impossible to write or draw clearly, because I can't rest my hand on the screen anymore.
I'm totally lost. The setting is checked, but doesn't work anyway.

    Any help appreciated
    Many thanks in advance

Hello Wojty, and welcome to Ten Forums.

You might double check to see if it's set in the registry with option 2 below.

Turn On or Off Ignore Touch Input when using Pen in Windows 10

If needed for now, you can use the method in the tutorial below to disable touch by finger as needed.

Hi, Wojty, I have that same generation and model notebook - Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga 2. Gen

What are you doing with what software? I don't use my pen a lot so walk me through what you're doing.

BTW do you have the "Ignore touch input when I'm using my pen" checkbox checked under Settings, Devices, click "Pen & Windows Ink"? Edit: I see Brink linked to the tutorial.

Also (out our curiosity) how'd you get 20H2? I still have been offered 2004.

    Thanks

I'm giving extra lessons in mechanics and statics and I use OneNote for Windows 10 to do the homework with screen-sharing on Skype. To help my students understand I do a lot of sketches, for which I depend on my pen.

    BTW. I have two questions:
    1. Do you know anything better than just Skype screen-sharing? I've heard of "Teams". Is it better?
    2. Since OneNote 2019 Microsoft dropped the ability to set up a page (eg. letter, A4, etc).
Do you know any workaround to get a OneNote notebook with single A4 pages?

I've got mine just a couple of days ago, on Tuesday 15th to be precise. I bought it used and refurbished from a well-known lenovo dealer here in Germany with fresh installed Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and updated it to 20H2 also a few days ago. It has been offered on the update screen, so I just did it.
    Code:
    Device name	Lenovo-X1-Yoga
    Processor	Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7600U CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.90 GHz
Installed RAM	16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
System type	64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch	Pen and touch support with 10 touch points

    Edition	Windows 10 Pro
    Version 20H2
    Installed on	‎15.‎12.‎2020
    OS build	19042.685
Experience	Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

    1. Do you know anything better than just Skype screen-sharing? I've heard of "Teams". Is it better? - I don't do screen sharing since I've no need for it. I also don't use Skype. I also don't use Teams, but I've heard it is great for conferencing, so you might look into that.
    2. Since OneNote 2019 Microsoft dropped the ability to set up a page (eg. letter, A4, etc). - Microsoft recommends "OneNote for Windows 10" not the older Office app (2019, 2016). That said I just use OneNote for simple stuff so I'm not familiar with the A4 page issue. Sorry.
    My reply in red above.

Anyway you've NOT said whether your issue was solved or you ticked the pen box as suggested.

    Peace :)

Well, unfortunately it's NOT yet solved.

I've noticed following behavior so far:

    Windows Ink Workspace > Whiteboard
with this app I can rest my hand on the screen and use the pen without any problems

    OneNote for Win10
if I zoom in my hand and fingers don't matter so much

I don't have any issues in OneNote for Windows 10, nor do I haven any issues in Windows Ink - that is like you no palm interference.

BTW, is the pen received with the notebook the OEM stowable pen?

    yep, this tiny black thingy.

    ThinkPad Pen Pro SD60M68133

As I wrote, when zoomed in on a OneNote notebook, the pen works fine and my hand gets ignored.
But as I zoom out and rest my hand the pen goes berserk.

I don't know what that number is. A link would be better. BTW if you looked at my link in my first reply to you you'd see the pen I'm talking about, which should be this one: ThinkPad Pen Pro (X1 Yoga)

Anyway, I have no further solutions. Good luck.
