How did I accidentally change my home screen like this?

I have a new touchscreen PC & after I booted it up, I started to remove & clean up all the junkware & tried to optimize the settings as much as I could & I must have did something because now my homescreen is gone & I get this in the picture.
I no longer have any icons on screen or get access to the regular start menuHow did I accidentally change my home screen like this?-20201110_100441.jpg

How do I revert to my original home screen?

For the display, I frequently get that as part of Windows install or reinstall. Should be able to right-click a blank area of the desktop and Personalize, make some choices. Or Settings, System, Display.

    Hello @I WANT MY GIFS,

Have a look at these and see if one helps . . .

    > Turn On or Off Tablet Mode in Windows 10
    > Enable or Disable Touchpad in Windows 10

    I hope this helps.

New? Reset pc to factory and start over, with more care this time. Much quicker than spinning wheels ...

How do you protect yourself? A little discipline and planning.

Before you make any changes, create your first disk image.
If you have a disk image of your Windows partitions, you can almost always restore a physically working PC to a previous good state.

Then, make some changes. Keep a simple log.
    Witness:

Update your disk image (e.g. create a differential disk image)
    Keep repeating these steps.

Also enable System Restore. Then, you can revert recent changes (if restoring completes successfully).

And remember- you can always perform a clean install of Win 10 (tutorial available) to guarantee you have no trialware.

Some PCs do need special utilities from the manufacturer if they have unique hardware features.
