Cant access settings

    Cant access settings


    My dad has just upgraded to windows 10 and is having a couple mof issues the first is that he cant access the settings.

    He presses it via the start>settings but it just flashes up then goes off.
    Hes tried the Windows key + i same thing happens
    Also via windows explorer>This Pc>Computer>Open Settings

    He has ASUS X550C laptop

    Any help will me most appreciated.

    To be honest, this is something that would require a LOT more information to solve.
    is this the Only issue you are facing or are there multiple issues?

    How much more information would you like and ill find out?
    The other 2 issues he has encountered was his DVD drive wasn't being recognised or any USB drive either.

    not helpful advice


    I have the same problem - you cant add a new account because that is in 'settings' and 'settings' is not accessible!

    Found this while searching and it worked for my dad he can now access the settings :)

    Settings doesnt launch, or launches the Store instead - Microsoft Community
