KEYBOARD SHORTCUT or Hotkey to a folder or drive not working

Windows 10 offers it but I do not know the magic trick to make it actually work :
KEYBOARD SHORTCUT or Hotkey to a folder or drive not working-image.png
Right here windows is giving me hope that this is possible. but so far I have not been able to make it give me a shortcut to a folder. I need it to open it up in a manner that its possible for me to understand what is in the folder by having it like this :
KEYBOARD SHORTCUT or Hotkey to a folder or drive not working-image.png
I think they call what is pictured above expanded view?
I do have a folder filled with shortcuts and I have quick access shortcuts but it would save me a great deal of time if I could make it so any time I have to browse for a folder I could use a shortcut key and make it go there.
I can use a hotkey to get to an application that works but it would save a lot of time if I could navigate faster. win 10 pro 1909

Try a letter. If you hit "C" Your combo would come up as Ctrl + Alt + C It should still work with all F keys. I tested it on my 20H2.

Consider using a Taskbar toolbar instead.

Mine have a mixture of shortcuts to folders, shortcuts to applications,... and they are all available very quickly & easily.

This would save everyone many hours a week if it was possible

Maybe it is not possible. I want to find out if it is or is not. I want to use a keyboard shortcut to navigate to a folder location within the "save as" dialog box of applications. I see windows makes it possible to make a KEYBOARD shortcut to an application but not to a folder. I hope to create keyboard shortcuts to my main folder locations and be able to access those folders in an instance from the save as dialog box within applications and also from windows. Anyone know if this is possible ?
Windows offers it but it does not work ? maybe a registry setting ?

Wouldn't it be easier to create Desktop Shortcuts to the folders?
This way, you haven't got to remember which Keyboard Shortcut is which.

    Just a thought.

Yes it works for me on 20H2, Folder and executable. I have 4 drives in my system and tested shortcuts spanning the 4 and all where positive. Your 1909 but that should have no bearing. I found this. Let us know if it helps. "Windows 10/8/7 Keyboard Shortcuts Not working" There are many with more insight then me. They have already jumped in. Maybe you should listen to them...

THIS METHODE worked to make keyboard shortcut to folder or drive

Create This PC Shortcut in Windows 10 This method worked as a shortcut to my drive I used ctrl alt shift and a letter and it works. Its a bit laggy but it does work It worked to make a keyboard shortcut to a drive. It worked for a folder and it worked for a drive. I did everything exactly like in the link above. It works within applications as I go to the desktop and look for the icon.
