I was having issues so I did a fresh install on Windows 10 Professional and make sure I had all of the updates. Now when I copy and paste a file somewhere, move a file or create a shortcut it causes explorer to crash and I'm not sure why as I haven't modified any system files. I'm using Windows 10 Professional version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.685)
Hi, basic iniitial steps:
Please start by booting to Safe Mode and advise if the same thing occurs.
If not, perform a clean boot (Google or see tutorial if unsure) and repeat.
If you still see the same problem, create a new user for test purposes, log in as that user and retry.
Advise the outcome.
Have you installed any programs since clean installing?
As you previously had problems, please also check your disk(s).

From an admin command prompt run
chkdsk c: /scan
then if ok
SFC /SCANNOW
Everything is working now and I can copy files just fine with no problems.
