Location - managed by your organization

When I try to change location settings via Settings-Privacy-Location I get a warning in red: "*Some of these settings are hidden or managed by your organization."
I run Windows 10 Home Edition Version 20H2
Since this is a Home Edition I don't have Group Policy Editor.
Is it possible to remove this warning through the Registry Editor?
    thanks in advance, gabriel

This is most likely to be because you or a program you have used has modified the registry in a way that is equivalent to setting a policy.

What tweaks have you applied? Have you used any so-called 'privacy' tools?

    Try
    Policy plus
    - free (use Google). Like the group policy editor but with a find feature.

You can use that to see what policies are applied, for example.

I didn't tamper with tweak programs nor privacy tools.
I will look into Policy Plus to see if I can find a setting.
    thank you

Try checking this in Settings: if the “Diagnostics and usage data” privacy setting is set to “Basic”, this can give rise to this message. (There are multiple possible causes).

If so, set back to Full.

Apparently I have a complete other view than you have.

Oh gawd, that... yes... I know the dreaded red text all too well. If there's no other option: reinstall everything! (Clean install). That worked in my position.

Hi aliskander, check the registry settings at the following link.

    • Group policy object (GPO): HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\DataCollection

    • Local policy preference: HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\DataCollection

    At the first registry location I observed a default or no setting and the following at the second location;

As far as I know, I have all my privacy settings configured for maximum privacy and sharing as little as possible. This 'MaxTelemetryAllowed' setting of 1 makes me wonder.
OK, 1=basic (required) and 3=full diagnostic data. I just tested these settings by changing the feedback GUI settings from basic to full.

    UPDATE:

    See post #14 here.

In the third paragraph a solution is posted when this user had the same condition as you've presented.
