Upgraded from Win 10 vers. 1903 to Win 10 vers. 1909 and got problems

When a user of the PC logs into my application for the first time, they are able to open it. When they log out of the application and log back into it, it produces an error stating that the application will close and when accepted, the application closes. Rebooting the PC does not change this result. Something seems to be getting set in the user’s Windows profile when they log in the first time because deleting and rebuilding their profile will allow them to open the application again, but only once then the issue re-occurs. This did not happen before the 1909 upgrade and if I back the upgrade out it doesn't happen anymore. How can I find out what is being changed in the user's Windows profile? ANY helpful advise is appreciated!

What is your application, what does it do?
What is the error it produces.

Thank you for your response Ztruker!

It's a proprietary 3D image viewer. The error that is produced is a general error: ([application name] has encountered a problem. [application name] will now shutdown. [OK]) .

I figured folks would be curious but I purposely left that out so that we wouldn't get distracted. My question is really about user profiles in Windows 10 and how to tell what gets changed when something gets changed.

I don't know of any way to monitor user profile changes specifically. You can monitor the registry.
This is one way: How to Use Process Monitor to Track Registry and File System Changes
There are many other ways too: how to monitor the registry before and after running a program windows 10

What is the error it produces. Can you use that to look at your program source to see what it's objecting to?

ProcMon dumps A LOT, as I'm sure you know. I did run it for 10 seconds and I am combing through the results. I was hoping that someone here would know of something more direct. Thank you again for your response.

Look at the other programs available in the Google link I gave you. There are better choices I'm sure.

Thanks! It looks like Regshot is will probably do what I need. Do know of a trusted site to get it from? I see a lot of them and I REALLY can't afford malware on this system.

    Found it!!!

RegShot did exactly what I needed and I found the change that was causing the issue!

I have pinpointed what is causing my application to crash after the Windows 10 vers. 1909 upgrade. There is a registry key that is being set for compatibility that does NOT need to be set. When it gets set, the application will crash. Deleting the key that references the application's executable will allow it – until the key gets set again by the user logging out and back in.

    Delete:

THANK YOU ! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!!!!
