Start Menu no longer working 20H2

I updated my windows 10 Pro to version 20H2 this morning and now my start menu is no longer working.
I have tried other accounts on the PC and they appear to be working fine, so it's just affecting my main account.

Anyone experienced this or have a fix?

    Many thanks

    Hello Rambo,

You might see if either restarting and/or re-registering the Start menu using an option in the tutorials below may be able to fix this for you.

Restart Start Menu in Windows 10

Re-register Start Menu in Windows 10

If Brink's suggestions do not work, create a new account and move everything from your main account to the new account.

Thank you for the quick response.

It appears that Start does not appear in task manager, and when I try to run C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.StartMenuExperienceHost_cw5n1h2txyewy\StartMenuExperienceHos t.exe I get the error that it's not found.

If a new account doesn't fix it, I would recommend doing an in-place-repair-upgrade Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

Okay thank you, I will give this a go.

Looks like I'm unable to do an in place upgrade repair install. I downloaded the media creation tool from Microsoft and created a USB but it only gives me the option to remove everything.
My windows is Installed in the default directory.

The media creation tool is named MediaCreationTool20H2 and my current windows version is 20H2 build 19042.630

There shouldn't be a space in the StartMenuExperienceHost.exe file name.

    No worries.

Just to verify, did you also already try re-registering the Start menu?

I did, however when I click on the start button nothing happens, but looking in task manager I can see that the start process runs for a few seconds and then disappears. So for some reason it's crashing or not running properly.
