    Icons-Thumbnails-Folders-Files


    How do I make my PC to have ALL folders display as icons and ALL files to display as thumbnails?

    Google search for "windows Disable Thumbnail Previews only for folders"; first (second?) result: Disable Folder Thumbnails without Disabling Thumbnail Preview for Files >> Winhelponline

    Thank you eddman. I am not all that versed in hacking the registry. Can you give it a try and let me know if it honors the op? If it does, I may gather up the courage to give it a go, unless a guru comes along with a 'dummies' solution.

    OK - I took a couple of swigs of liquid courage and dove into this. Could not get the reg. file to work so I made the change to the registry. SUCCESS!!!! I have my icons AND thumbnails, oh what a happy day!
