My Windows 10 Version has apparently been changed from V 2004 (OS build 19041.572 to 0S BUILD 19041.630) Leaving me with a Desktop cleared of my Filing system for my decades of document Folders in my Face so to speak. What's Happened? Has any body else had this problem. It may be my fault With my Desk Papers on my keyboard burying it and keys accidently being pressed.
I have in the past had MS move some of my stuff into the cloud - I have no interest in this at the moment as I am trying to search gradually through my folders.
I still have my Folders somewhere - hopefully!

    Try the following -

Download the free tool ShadowCopyView from Nirsoft.

    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shadow_copy_view.html

Look for a shadow copy that hopefully was made before the files were deleted.

Highlight it, and select Go to Root Directory in the File menu on the toolbar.

In the lower pane, navigate to C:\Users\Your User Name\Desktop, and see if the files are there.

If so, select the files, right click, and select Copy Selected Files To.

Select a destination, and click the Do It button.

Repeat the same steps for C:\Users\Public\Desktop.

    Bill,

Has Windows logged you in to your normal user account properly or did it report a problem trying to do so?

    Check your username -
    Right-click on the Start button,
Select {whichever is there} Windows Powershell / Command prompt,
Type / paste in this command then press Enter
    Code:
    whoami
It should respond in the form ComputerName\UserName
