    Adding NEW file types to context menu


    Hello,
    I would like to add file type .FC7 to my right click (context) NEW menu so I can open a new FastCad drawing in any folder. I found one link that showed how to do this, but it did not work for me. Basically it added a key under the HK_CLASSES_ROOT tree, adding a SheelNew key under the file extension. For whatever reason, .FC7 did not appear under that tree, so Ihad to create it. After following the directions, NOTHING new appeared in the NEW context menu. I thought I had at one time found a utility that made this easy, but I may be thinking of a much older version of Windows. I am running Win 10 Pro Ver 1909 (I had issues with 2004). ANy help is appreciated!

    It should be 'ShellNew' with NullFile in that key. How to add a new file type to the Microsoft Windows 10 Context Menu - TechRepublic
