Rebuild Icon Cache no longer effective

    I recently upgraded to Windows 10 20H2 Build 19042.610.
Shortly after that a number of icons on my desktop went blank. Properties displays still show correct icons.
Tried running Rebuild_Icon_Cache batch file supplied in the tutorials but no success.
    Any ideas?

Is that issue in all accounts?

I have only one account on the pc.

Plus, as I said, the problem arose shortly after the upgrade.

Create another account to check for a corrupted user profile

Too much hassle for a minor issue.

Let's assume a corrupted user profile. How would one go about fixing that?

It's not worth fixing. Just move all files across to the new account and delete the offending account. In your situation I would revert the upgrade or recover from the last backup and wait a while before trying the upgrade again.
