    Daylight Saving Time?

Hi, I live in California (Pacific Standard Time; PST).

Today (November 1, 2020), Daylight Saving Time ends (move the clocks back 1 hour), yet my computer still hasn't automatically done that. This is the first time, that I can remember, where the computer didn't automatically adjust the clock correctly.

    What happened?

It was Halloween. And there was a full moon. That's more than ample spookiness to cause computer glitches!

If you haven't already done so...
You could check in your Settings / Time and Language / Date and time.
Make sure that Adjust for daylight savings time automatically is selected.

These are the current settings there:

I switched off and on that first one, and turned on the second one. Now my time is correct! Yay. Thanks wannagofast =)

When is the US gonna get rid of Daylight Saving Time?
We don't need that in the current modern days; It is an outdated "idea".

    PS: I analyzed this scenario.
Assuming my settings aren't set to adjust the clock automatically somehow, Microsoft should implement a question on Daylight Saving Time. So, for example, once I turned on the computer today, the computer should've stated that today Daylight Saving Time ends (that the clocks get moved back one hour), and that the computer didn't seem to automatically do that. The computer should've asked if it should turn on that setting to automatically change the clock, if necessary.

Florida has passed a bill in the state legislature to get rid of DST but it requires some action from Congress and they have done nothing so far.

And I predict pretty soon all the dual booting folks will be posting about why their computers lost 2 hours....

A few years ago I remember hearing things about DST, but never heard anything after that. Hopefully my manual clocks in the house learn to do time adjusting on their own! lol... they'll learn within the next few years.
