    Make a Registry Value "Read-Only"

Is it possible to make a specific Registry Value "Read-Only" ? I'm basically trying to stop Paint from saving the last used "Resize" value. As you can see from the video below "BMPHeight" and "BMPWidth" are related to it. I can only change Permissions for Registry Folders but when I do that, the Registry Values inside that Registry Folder get hidden/locked away which causes Paint to not operate properly.

    1. WHY are you trying to do that?
    2. In Paint, the resize is always set to 100 x 100 and on percentage, when I paste a new image in paint.
    3. On pixel, mine isn't saving the last used size, in Paint. When I click on pixel it shows w/e size the image is.

I understand you are trying to make a registry key read only... I just don't know why?

I just double checked. I open Paint, and whether I drag and drop an image in there, or use File > Open, or even if I Paste an image in there...paint always shows 100 on the percentage option in Resize... and always shows the image size, if I choose the pixel option.

Registry keys and values do not have a read only attribute like files do. The only way to prevent writing to a specific value is to set appropriate security on the key that contains it. You can expect that this will have adverse effects. Registry values do not have their own security.
