Best bet is to delete all partition on that page and let windows create what it needs it ensures no bad files left

If you want UEFI / GPT then delete all partitions (see tutorial) > make an unallocated drive > install Windows > test drive > install drivers and applications

Unless I missed it, and I could have, there are two issues raised early in this thread that you have yet to address.,

First, the PC came configured in UEFI mode and you changed that to Legacy. Doing that ENSURES the PC will no longer boot into Windows. You were told to change it back to UEFI but your screenshot shows Legacy. So, have you reset it to UEFI yet?

Also, comments were made about checking the drive -- as this error message often indicates a failing drive -- and FORCING an installation of Windows will not only do nothing to fix that, it will most likely fail.

It's generally best to approach these issues in some ordered manner -- not to charge ahead with forcing a new installation of Windows hoping that is going to fix the underlying problems.

    Hi there
    Many thanks for that.
The machine is only two years old and has had barely any use at all.
I changed fro UEFI so that I could alter the boot sequence i.e. USB CD or USB stick
    The egg timer has now stopped but I am now getting the message on all four partitions;
    >
    Windows can't be installed on drive Partition ( 1 ) Partition ( 2 ) ( Unallocated space ) Partition ( 3 )

The only option that I have now is to either go back < ( top left ) or shut down and change back to UEFI and leaving it at boot to USB CD rom

That is not the only option you have. You are not following the advice being given to you. The other option you have is on the screen that lists the 4 partitions on the disk, select each partition and click delete. When you get down to only 1 big unallocated space on the disk, click on that to highlight it and click on next. This advice was in post #21.

Also, installing Windows 10 from a USB connected DVD drive is going to be extremely slow, you must be patient with it.

    a) a new bootable windows 10 iso 2009:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10
    Download Windows 10 ISO File
    Download Windows 10 ISO File
Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10
Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Acer will not understand an ISO file will it

I'm now back at the original Windows set up as seen in the image, and I have a cursor

Just a thought if I shut this down and reboot and go back to UEFI leaving it at boot to USB CD rom will that work ?

So I download the ISO file onto my desktop and write it to a CD ( I have a 16gb Kingston USB stick sat here doing nothing)
Then plug the stick in or CD your choice and let it do its thing
Are you saying that without an OS it will be able to read the ISO file
