Notification area icon settings change on restart
When I restart or logoff and logon to Windows 10 some notification area icons get switched off.
Is there any way to prevent this?

Hide or Show Notification Area Icons on Taskbar in Windows 10 have you checked the settings for which ones are enabled to be visible?

See option 3
I am well acquainted with the Taskbar Settings and I have set my preferences many times.
However there are one or two that get changed without any action by me.
Most often it is Connectify Hotspot that gets reversed.

Thanks for the update.
Connectify Hotspot - didn't see it on your screenshot?
If show all works for a few days, maybe you can try selective again . It's amazing Windows works as well as it does with the combinations and permutations of hardware and software that they support.
The taskbar tray icon cache may become corrupted and unresponsive to any attempted changes, but usually an in-place upgrade of Windows, like a feature update, will rebuild it for the account you are logged in during the re-install. Unfortunately the other account's trays often become messed up when you install and uninstall programs as an admin, which affects all present accounts. The re-install only fixes the tray of the account you are logged in during re-install, all others remain unchanged.
This happens to me on my work laptop (we just upgraded to Windows 10). I have local administrative rights and I can set the notification icons the way I want them. If I log off or reboot, they're back to their original settings. I assume it's some sort of policy update that gets pushed when I log into the domain.
