    OK, so the network adaptor setting change made no difference.
    This really is driving me crazy!
    The PC tends to auto-sleep for some hours, and then it doesn't. Sometimes the screen goes blank and then it is brought back to life. Sometimes the screen stays blank, but the PC doesn't sleep, etc.
    Even if at the end of the day I manually put the PC to sleep, I have 2 overnight backups running at 2am and 6am, and whenever these start, the PC wakes (obviously!) and does not go back to sleep. So, it is always on when I get up in the morning to start using it.
    As always, shedding any light on this would be very much appreciated!

    @imacken,
    Next time it doesn't go back to sleep, run "powercfg /requests" and post the output please.

    Will do Steve, but I have never seen anything useful on that report and I run it regularly. Nothing ever shows!

    Hello @imacken,

    I have written a Batch script named PowerCFG Detailed & Comprehensive Analysis Report that I can post if you think the information might be useful to you.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi Paul, thanks for that. Anything that might help solve the mystery would be appreciated!

    Right-click the Batch file and select Run as administrator => . . .

    There might be some useful information in the report that will help.

    Thanks Paul.
    I ran the batch file, but the reports make little sense to me. Should I run this when the PC won't auto-sleep, or when?

    The program only produces a report. As Sleep is part of the Power Configuration I just thought that you might be able to gleam something from the report that would help you solve your problem!

    I've attached the sleep report. I have Acronis backups going each night at 2am and 6am, so they are genuine. Can you see anything unusual?

    I would have the batch script output where to find the results files ...... finally found them on my desktop.
