Clocks keep stopping when PC is closed

I have 3 clocks including the Taskbar clock. Every time I close my PC all 3 stopped so on re-boot I have to start them again, in Settings. This happens with all the option, Sleep, Hibernate, Restart, Shutdown. I have never experienced this before, what do I need to do to keep the clocks running? I have tried both automatic and manual Settings.

Hi, sounds like you need to change a small round silver battery inside your PC commonly termed the 'CMOS' battery.

You will probably find a guide on line for your laptop model.

Is this likely, given that the Tablet PC is only about a month old?

I have no idea about a tablet. Your specs show:

    Computer Type: Laptop
System Manufacturer/Model Number: Cube iWork Ultimate
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit and ANDROID Lollipop
CPU: Intel Atom CherryTrail (4 Core)
    Motherboard: American Megatrends
It really helps if you can be clear about what you're asking about. Good luck.

Those details are for my previous Cube PC which I replaced about about a month ago with a Chuwi 10X (launched earlier this year). I updated my details accordingly. I will check to see if the edit of my Profile is still being displayed.

It would help to know what "3 clocks" you're talking about as Windows only has one, which is feed off the BIOS clock. So, again, what "3 clocks"???

Let's figure that out first before tackling the CMOS battery.

Those details are not correct. They are for my previous Cube PC which I replaced about about a month ago with a Chuwi HINote 10X (launched earlier this year). I updated my details accordingly but I have checked to see if the current details in my Profile are still being displayed ---- they are not. For some reason my editing did not take effect. So I will do it again.

By the way, the form for system details in Profile does not allow for accurate labelling of my type of device, which I usually refer to as a 'TabletPC used mainly as a Laptop'. They are also referred to as 'Hybrid' or '2-in-' or 'Notebook' or 'Convertible' and possibly other nomenclature.

In addition to the Windows / Taskbar clock I have two Gadget clocks, one is a conventional clock face, the other is a digital clock which is the Desktop icon for a Reminder Gadget. When I select automatic time in Settings all clocks update in unison. They also stop working in unison when the TabletPC is shutdown / sleeps etc.

Which "specific clocks" stop in unison? Is one the system clock (the clock in the system tray)? If it's just the two clocks added, and not the system clock, chances are the issue is not a CMOS battery (though you seem to have an atom system, so not sure about a "CMOS" battery there) but the "gadget" apps themselves.

BTW what are the name of the "gadget" clocks? Link?

My suggested test to see if CMOS battery or RTC (real-time-clock chip) is bad:
    1. While logged in to tablet confirm date and time are correct in Windows after you have set them.

    2. Shutdown/power off your tablet. Disconnect the charging plug from Tablet if connected. If it has a removable battery, take it out (I'm not referring to the CMOS coin battery here, but rather the "laptop battery").

    3. Wait 15 minutes with Tablet off/charger disconnected/battery removed (if possible). If it has a removable LT battery, try to turn the LT on several times and just go to the next step without waiting the full 15 minutes.

    4. Turn tablet back on and immediately go into BIOS and check the date and time.
    a) If time or date are incorrect, it seems like the CMOS/RTC (real-time-clock chip) is defective or as @dalchina suggested, the CMOS coin battery needs to be replaced.
    b) If the time and date are correct, exit BIOS and let Tablet boot up, then log into Windows. If the time and date are still wrong as you usually see (but were correct in the BIOS), I conclude it's some other problem besides the CMOS battery or RTC.

    Hope this helps.

If it's one month old then it should be in warranty. Get warranty service. Let the manufacturer own the problem.
