    Weird timestamps in Autoruns

    I searched and found here a post about that, marked as solved:

    Autoruns: Puzzling entries Solved - Windows 10 Forums

    The guy was talking about timestamps of 1975. Now check out what I found with the most recent version of Autoruns:

    WTH is that? Any ideas? TIA.

    @Paultx

    I wouldn't worry about it. It's been that way for years. I notice that if you click on Options > Hide Microsoft entries, most of the ridiculous years go away, leaving just a few dates in the future.

    The earliest year I notice is 1901, and the latest would be 2056. I would guess that it's an internal code Microsoft uses for... something. I was editing the registry, manually, the other day... and I noticed a 2056 date in the registry itself.

    I've often wondered why MS uses such weird file names as well. We are far past the 8 character DOS naming conventions.
    I can only assume then when you are building a program with millions of files (like Windows), you need to get a bit creative in your naming, and apparently, dating scheme.

    For all we know, they might NOT be years, but rather Microsoft... departments or something.

    Yeah, Fred, send that over to dept. 1937, that's their work... they should deal with it. ??
